Meet Kim Vaccerella, founder of Bogg Bag:

Kim_Vacerella

After years of buying beach bags that just couldn’t handle my beach-loving family’s needs we thought there must be a better bag. Our needs were simple…. A bag large enough to carry everything we needed for a long day at the beach or pool, a bag that wouldn’t tip over and spill our belongings all over the beach, and a bag that could be rinsed off at the end of the day. Not too much to ask for, right? After thousands of searches we couldn’t find what we were looking for.
On a trip to the Jersey Shore, we realized we had forgotten the kids flip flops and went to the local surf shop to pick up a couple of pairs. My son came across a pair of those funny looking shoes that everyone was talking about and asked if he could get them instead. We bought 3 pairs. Later on the beach, I became fascinated with the lightweight material and feel of their new shoes. My husband and I played with the shoes all day talking about how cool they were. It was then we had our AHA! moment. THIS is what a beach bag should be made of!
After a long day at the beach, we went back to the beach house and I took out a pad and started drawing. Miraculously, having no drawing ability, I was able to sketch out in my first attempt almost the exact bag you see today. We wanted to see what a bag of that size would look like but couldn’t imagine how to make it. As a Controller for a commercial real estate lender and a husband who is a Police Officer, neither one of us had any idea on what to do next. I wandered around a local craft store looking for something that I could use to attempt making a sample. I came across some big foam sheets and thought maybe I could make something of them. I went home, cut them up, made holes, sewed the sides together and voila, the BOGG BAG was born!
We reached out to a patent attorney to secure a patent with drawings and a large yellow foam sample in hand. While in the early stages of the patent, we came up with the accessory bags to hold money, phones, keys, books, etc. After reading several books, searching endless articles online, and speaking with anyone we could, we decided the next step was to get a bag made. We knew it would be hard but we determined to see a real life BOGG! A year later, after developing a mold, we had a BOGG BAG to show the world – we still use that same BOGG BAG every year on the beach. It was then we hit the ground running, talking with everyone that would listen. Everyone had great advice and offered many opinions, and we listened to every one of them. In 2011 we placed our first order for 350 bags in 5 colors. This was a HUGE step. Samples in hand we approached our first store, a local super fun boutique. Since I had read so many books that said “don’t be discouraged with your first couple of nos”, I was terrified, but they loved BOGG BAG and placed an order on the spot. That was in April of 2011 and they have since placed several orders. People have expressed their love for the BOGG, not only as the best beach bag, but the best everything bag! Other stores also carry BOGG BAG and look forward to our future products. I promise there will be many more to come!

Meet Lindsay Wegesin, inventor of Kidzikoo:

“Totally kid inspired, my son Landon was the #1 driving force to make Kidzikoo bottle/sippy insulators from an idea to a reality.  Without him, I couldn’t have done it.  Literally!  Here’s our story…

One morning in October of 2010, Landon was sitting on my lap as he was drinking his cold milk out of his sippy cup.  He reached back and put his little hand on my cheek and it was FREEZING cold!  I chuckled and said to him “burrrr, you need an insulator for your sippy cup!”   I immediatly marched upstairs to the computer to search for baby bottle/sippy cup insulators, thinking they would be found at any retailer.  Well, much to my surprise, I found NOTHING!  Immediately the light bulb turned on and the idea was born!”

Lindsay Wegesin, a “Mommy Inventor” is the president and CEO of LadyEdison & Co., the parent and distribution company for Kidzikoo.   Since the successful launch of Kidzikoo in June of 2011,  a demand for larger insulators and also freezer pop insulators kept arising, so Koverz Sport Bottle Insulators and Kooleez Freezer Pop Insulators were created and added to the Kidzikoo family summer of 2012.    Lindsay is dedicated to creating new and innovative products never before seen in the consumer market while keeping quality and affordability at the forefront.

“Many people will knock your ideas and say you’ll never make it happen. Use those who doubt you to fuel your passion and keep driving forward until you’ve accomplished your dreams. The sky is the limit and with good faith and hard work, all things are possible.  Believe in yourself and you WILL make it happen.” Read More.

Meet Tiffany Smith, inventor of Sand Gone.

I’m a mother of two children and our family spends a lot of time at the beach. This means I’ve seen a lot of sand.
After years of cleaning sandy children, I discovered a little trick to remove sand without using water. After a few more years of improving the ingredients I perfected a all natural, non talc powder.

TiffanySand Gone is a dry body powder that, when applied to sand covered skin, removes the sand and leaves the skin soft and smooth while feeling fresh and clean.

Sand Gone comes in an attractive eight ounce jar with a screw-able lid. Within the jar is a microfiber applicator. It is extremely soft but also durable. It can be cleaned by household washers and dryers when necessary. The applicator also has a strap across it to help secure it to the user’s hand as the powder is applied.

The dry, white powder is both non-toxic and non-talc. It also contains a hint of coconut fragrance. Sand Gone is best used when cleaning up while leaving the beach. However, Sand Gone works perfectly well when cleaning up after the sand box, playground or wherever one encounters sand.   It’s like having a “dry shower” from a jar.  In addition to removing the sand, Sand Gone also removes the salt from your skin after a day at the beach.  No more uncomfortable ” scratchy feeling” under clothing during the drive home.

After using Sand Gone, you will quickly find that it becomes one of those must-haves at the beach, sandlot or park.  You will know to bring you sunblock and shades….but also your SAND GONE
